BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION

I am trying the old trick, start a new page, save the draft, go to bed.

Well, the date on the draft is June 15 and I had been 78 years old for a week, almost four months ago.  Summer has come and gone.  I have discovered that I am fairly good at walking outside, in the house,  and in place, especially in place.  Today, for example, rather yesterday now since the Fitbit resets at midnight, I acquired almost 13,000 steps, walking in place, walking outside in the subdivision street, walking in place, while watching TV: Hawaii 5-O and Blue Bloods, walking in place while watching Bosch on my iPad, and, sometimes, while walking around the car and around the car in the garage and around the car in the garage.  Ha!  I’m beginning to get the hang of webloging again.  I should try to make writing a habit, I suppose.  What’s really interesting is that my new iPad (well, not so new anymore) seems to know what I am going to write before I do.  Goodness!  I look at the bar above my keyboard and there are the words I need.  All I have to do is tap tap tap.

According to the clock, the time is 2:33 a.m.  Given all my absent organs, as well as my pacemaker, I could call myself “Android!”  Whoa, the machine knew what I was going to write after only “a-n-d.”  That’s a bit scary.  I might have died a week ago, and the machine is just soldiering (it knew the word I was going to use!) on.  I need a tall cold refreshing drink of (if it knows this, I will quit and go to bed) cran grape, Ocean Spray only!  Ha!  Safe for a while, but now it knows!

Gone again and back, having consumed a banana and 3 Walmart sugar donuts, “minis,” according to the box.  While I was in the kitchen, I remembered that I hadn’t eaten supper.  Soooo!  What could I do?  The machine wanted me to write “realized” rather than “remembered” but I held fast.   Now that I think about it, the machine needs a name.  Our stone dachshund figure I call “Rocky,” and speak to him going in and out.  So, something as intimate as my iPad ought to have a name too.  Things are important and aware.  I’ll sleep on it.
